अफगानिस्तान और वेस्ट इंडीज सुपर 8 के लिए क्वालीफाई हो चुका है। न्यूजीलैंड ग्रुप स्टेज से बाहर।
अफगानिस्तान और पापुआ न्यू गिनी के बीच हो रहे आईसीसी मेंस T20 ke मैच में अफगानिस्तान ने पापुआ न्यू गिनी को हराकर सुपर 8 के लिए क्वालीफाई कर लिया और अफगानिस्तान के जीतते ही न्यूजीलैंड ग्रुप स्टेज से ही बाहर हो गया वह सुपर 8 तक नहीं पहुंच पाया। अफगानिस्तान ने पहले गेंदबाजी करते हुए बहुत बेहतरीन प्रदर्शन किया जिसमे अफगानिस्तान के फास्ट बॉलर फजल हक फारूकी ने अपने 4 ओवरों में 16 रन देकर 3 विकेट लिए तो वही नवीन उल हक़ ने भी अपने 2.5 ओवरों में 4 रन देकर 2 विकेट लिए और नूर अहमद ने 4 ओवरों में 14 रन देकर 1 विकेट लिए बाकी के 4 विकेट रन आउट से गिरे। इस मैच में अफगानिस्तान ने बहुत बेहतरीन गेंदबाजी , फील्डिंग और बल्लेबाजी किया। अफगानिस्तान ने दूसरी पारी में बल्लेबाजी करते हुए इस मैच को जीत लिया और अफगानिस्तान की ओर से सबसे ज्यादा रन गुलबदीन नाइब बनाएं, गुलबदिन ने 36 गेंदों पर 49 रन बनाएं।
अफगानिस्तान ने बहुत कम समय में खुद को इतना मजबूत कर लिया को अच्छे अच्छे टीमें उनके सामने नहीं टिक पाती है।अफगानिस्तान की मजबूती उसके स्पिन गेंदबाजों के वजह से थी लेकिन अब अफ़गानितान टीम में फास्ट गेंदबाजी और बल्लेबाजी बहुत बेहतरीन हो गई है, अफगानिस्तान टीम में फजल हक फारूकी , नवीन उल हक़ और अजमत उल्लाह ओमारजाई जैसे बेहतरीन गेंदबाज हैं। बल्लेबाजी की बात को जाए तो रहमानुल्लाह गुरबाज और इब्राहिम ज़दरान जैसे बेहतरीन बल्लेबाज है। अफगानिस्तान टीम की सबसे मजबूत पक्ष अभी भी स्पिन गेंदबाजी है जिसमे राशिद खान, मुजीबुर्रहमान , नूर अहमद और मोहम्मद नबी जैसे बेहतरीन स्पिन गेंदबाज हैं।

ICC Men's T20 match between Afghanistan and Papua New Guinea, Afghanistan defeated Papua New Guinea and qualified for the Super 8 and as Afghanistan won, New Zealand was out of the group stage and could not reach the Super 8. Afghanistan performed very well while bowling first in which Afghanistan's fast bowler Fazal Haq Farooqui took 3 wickets for 16 runs in his 4 overs. Naveen Ul Haq also took 2 wickets for 4 runs in his 2.5 overs and Noor Ahmed took 1 wicket for 14 runs in 4 overs, the remaining 4 wickets fell due to run out. Afghanistan did excellent bowling, fielding and batting in this match. Afghanistan won the match while batting in the second innings and Gulbadin Naib scored the highest run for Afghanistan, Gulbadin scored 49 runs on 36 balls.
Afghanistan has strengthened itself so much in a very short time that even the best teams are unable to stand in front of them. The strength of Afghanistan was due to its spin bowlers but now the fast bowling and batting of the Afghan team has become very good. It has excellent bowlers like Fazal Haq Farooqui, Naveen Ul Haq and Azmat Ullah Omarzai. If we talk about batting, there are excellent batsmen like Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran.The strongest aspect of the Afghanistan team is still their spin bowling which has excellent spin bowlers like Rashid Khan, Mujibur Rahman, Noor Ahmed and Mohammad Nabi.
